There’s a tiny shop in the middle of Bilbao that ruined cookies for me—in the best way possible. For years as an expat here, I’ve endured the cruel parody of what local bakeries call a “cookie.” Dry, brittle, joyless discs that belong in a dentist’s waiting room, not on a plate. Then, by sheer luck or divine intervention, I found this place. The smell alone felt like a warm handshake from home—brown sugar, butter, and chocolate whispering promises that were, for once, kept.
Let’s get this straight: these aren’t just cookies. These are declarations of war against mediocrity and gloom. Soft, warm, and so carefully made it’s as if Michelangelo put down his chisel and thought, “Forget marble, let’s do something people can actually eat.” The pistachio cookie was nutty poetry—green flecks shining like jewels in a dough so tender it barely held itself together. The double chocolate? Pure decadence, a flood of cocoa that doesn’t just hit your sweet tooth, it mugs it in a back alley.
I’ve longed for this. A real cookie. Something that doesn’t just fill your stomach, but convinces you that the world isn’t all bad. This shop gave me exactly that. I sat there like some kind of junkie, staring at an empty box and wondering if it was too shameless to order a dozen more. These cookies didn’t just taste good—they reset the standard. This picture should be in the dictionary under “cookie.” Everything else should come with a warning label: not the real thing.
If you’re in Bilbao and you think you know what a cookie is, you don’t. Not until you’ve been here. Forget your diet, forget your conscience, and take a bite. Life is too short for bad beer, bad coffee, or bad cookies. And this little shop? It’s proof that, every now and then, the universe gives you exactly what you’ve been craving.Delicious gluten free cookies. They’re very sweet so one is plenty. I had the cookies & cream and it was really good!
Absolutely mind-blowing delicious vegan gluten free sweets! The best chocolate cookie I’ve ever tried 🤤 And blondie with cinnamon is so tasty too! 😋 I will definitely come again. Nice and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Didn’t get a picture before inhaling the cookies - the Nutella cookie is the best cookie I’ve ever had - gluten free or otherwise. 100% gluten free bakery. Very much worth going out of your way for while in Bilbao!

Was craving an American flavored cookie and brownie and OMG these were beyond good! So happy to have here in Bilbao!!! Will definitely be back for the BEST treats with a friendly owner!!!

There are a lot of flavours, I tried almost all of them and if you like chocolate, as I do, you have to taste their "double choco". It's a chef kiss cookie! They also sell other products such as brownies and cinnamon roll.
Moreover the two people that served us were very nice and good at English. To sum up, these cookies are one of the reason to come back to Bilbao!Respuesta del propietario

As an American in Bilbao, I struggle to find flavorful, sweet dessert options. When I found out Kuki is owned by an American I knew I had to try it, and I wasn’t disappointed! I got the snickerdoodle and cookies and cream cookies; both were delicious and I’d never guess they’re gluten free. TLDR; add Kuki to your list of places to try when in Bilbao!

So thankful to find the Kuki Cookie Bakery in Bilbao during our trip to Spain. I was recently diagnosed with celiac and have struggled to find quality bakery goods. The cookies here are worth every penny and I would go out of my way to buy some even if I wasn’t celiac. Thank you! Ps: if you can divulge, my wife wants to know what kind of flour you use?

I am so excited that you liked our cookies 🥹 I use my own flour blend, but the closest you have in the US is bob's red mill 1:1 for cookies (not as good for other stuff). Another two great resources are the blogs loopy whisk and gluten free austrian!

Incredible American style cookies, and the whole place is gluten free. What a rare treat! I bought a couple cookies, enjoyed them so much I went back the same day and got several more to snack on during my travels. The owner/baker was lovely, too. Highly recommend!

We got the cookie and cream, red velvet, pistachio and Nutella chip, all were delicious and had a great texture. The cookies are quite heavy so we divided them between two sittings, so very worth it!

I died and came back to life while eating the vegan double chocolate cookie, super gooood!!!
I was only in the city for a lunch break during a road trip and I’m so glad I found this place!! I wish I’d bought a dozen more treats 😅. My three year old is gluten and dairy free (but okay with cross contamination) and he loved his cookie and blondie so much!!! I actually think that was the first cookie he’s ever had.

Just tried these cookies for the first time today and they’re delicious! Authentic American-style cookies, gluten free, and diverse flavors. We tried the chocolate chip walnut and the lemon ones and both were delicious.
